6 V 6 Rules Of Play

Age Group U8

1. The field of play is roughly 30x60yards. Center circle, goal box, and corner arc will be marked.

2. The ball shall be a size 3, and is to be supplied by the home team.

3. The Plus One Rule will be utilized. When any team does not have six players at the field at match time the coaches may:

   1. Elect for both teams to play with fewer players or

   2. The full team must only play one more player than the opposing team has available.

   3. The coaches may elect to reschedule the match.

4. Shin guards MUST be worn; tennis shoes or cleats without a toe cleat may be worn.

5. NO jewelry of any kind may be worn.

6. Referees shall be scheduled by the league; however, in the event no referee is present a representative of each team may officiate.

7. Each match will consist of 2 twenty minute halves with a five minute half time.

8. There is no off sides rule at this age.

9. All free kicks shall be indirect free kicks. There shall be no direct free kicks.

10. There shall be no free kicks (direct or indirect) inside the penalty box.

11. Throw-ins shall be taken by throwing the ball over the head with both feet remaining on the ground. Improper throw-ins may be retaken once; if still incorrect the opposing team shall take the throw in.

12. Goal Kicks will be taken from any point on the goal line

13. Corner Kicks will be taken from anywhere on the appropriate corner arc. Opponents shall remain 4 yards from the ball until it is in play.

14. Substitutions will be made at:

    1. ONLY when the head referee acknowledges the substitution

    2. At a throw in which is in YOUR favor

    3. At a goal kick by either team.

    4. After a goal scored by either team.

    5. At half time.

    6. Each player shall play 50% of the match.

15. Players Coaches and Referees shall shake hands at the end of each match

16. Goalkeepers will be used in each match
